Dr Sally Ward, chartered clinical psychologist in Yorkshire

patients

I see adults who want help with problems such as

  • Depression
  • Anxiety / Panic problems
  • Phobic disorders
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Stress

I offer an evidence-based effective therapeutic intervention called Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy. This treatment is recommended by the Department of Health as being the treatment of choice for post trauma psychological disorders, depression and anxiety based disorders.

I usually offer appointments within two weeks of referral or enquiry and the treatment typically consists of somewhere between 6 and 15 one-hour sessions depending on the severity of the disorder.

I see people on a private basis.

I am registered with various different private healthcare companies such as AXA PPP and Norwich Union Healthcare etc. (Some companies require you to have a referral from a Consultant Psychiatrist.) Unfortunately, after working with BUPA for nearly 15 years, in December 2010 they drastically altered their Terms & Conditions. As I wish to retain my independence and integrity as a therapist, I have decided not to accept these new Terms and not to sign any form of agreement with BUPA. I regret therefore that I am no longer able to accept new BUPA clients.

I see people for therapy at the Wharfedale Psychology and Psychotherapy Practice in Otley, West Yorkshire. We provide comfortable and peaceful surroundings close to the centre of the town and with easy parking nearby.
